Nutrition tip: do alcoholic drinks get fat?


Most of alcoholic drinks have many empty calories that are fattening and do not nourish us. That's why you should know that each gram of alcohol represents 7 kcal. Here I leave the values ​​of some of the most common drinks:

Vodka: 60 ml = 139 Kcal.

Rum: 60 ml = 139 Kcal (+soda: 152 Kcal).

Whiskey: 55 ml = 138 Kcal.

Tequila: 55ml = 146 Kcal.

Red wine: 200 ml (2 glasses) = 170 Kcal.

White wine: 200 ml = 320 Kcal.

Champagne: 150 ml = 100 Kcal.

Beer: 356 ml = 153 Kcal.

Beer Light: 356 ml = 103 Kcal.

Baileys: 120 ml = 260 Kcal

Now imagine that you drink one night 12 beers (1836 kcal), and your caloric requirement is 2000 kcal… You consumed most 91% of what you should eat as alcohol!

TIPS:

  • Avoid cocktails or preparations involving soft drinks or juices; it is better option a glass of wine or light beer.

  • Between each alcoholic drinks take a glass of water.

  • If you are going out, eat before drinking to accelerate the gastric emptying and delay its absorption at the intestine.

  • If you want to lose weight, consider the calories of each of the alcoholic drinks you consume.
